Awesome Weekend

We took full advantage of the great weekend weather we had this past weekend and headed to the Zoo on Saturday. We went right as they opened and felt like we had the place to ourselves. Not too many people were there so the girls were able to roam free.
The bears were the biggest hit at the Zoo. The girls loved seeing them. Mia always had some sort of "action" face on. Here she is pointing out a picture of a bear in one of the caves.
Myah posing for a picture with a black bear.
Notice the face again.
Watching the polar bear.
Checking out some birds.
Taking a break on a butterfly
Myah had to try out the elephants

Mia's checking out the flamingos
Now that Mia's almost two, she is quite independent. No need to ride in the trike - she'll push it.
She then decided she'd walk the rest of the way.
Checking the fish out in the aquarium
Notice Mia's face again...she's "awe" struck.
After the Zoo, we grabbed some food from Culvers and headed to Lake Manawa for a picnic then went to Grandma Lorie's and played.
After going on a walk and playing at the park Sunday morning, we had to do some playing outside at home.
Crusin' around on the sidewalks.
Mia hanging out on dad's lawn mower.
Myah prefers the four wheeler.
Sunday afternoon we frosted cookies.

Can you guess what Mia enjoyed most about frosting the cookies?

The finished product - Mia's is on the left; Myah's is on the right
